WLD Wrapped 2025

2025 was a massive year for Women’s Lacrosse Drills, and just like Spotify Wrapped, we wanted to take a moment to look back at everything this community accomplished together. It was a busy year with a lot of moving pieces, but the constant thread was how much people showed up for one another - to share drills, troubleshoot problems, compare experiences, and keep growing the sport together.

OUR TOP POST

WLD Member, Mike Petrella, offered to send everyone his PDF of goalie drills (here). 49 coaches requested this document from Mike. Thank you SO MUCH Mike! This goes to show how giving is what makes our community so special.

WHAT MEMBERS WERE UP TO THIS YEAR

This year looked very different depending on who you ask…and that’s kind of the point!

  • Some members launched their own club teams.

  • Some stepped away from coaching, intentionally, to reset and take care of themselves.

  • Some took on their first-ever coaching roles, while others moved into head coaching positions for the first time.

  • There were national titles and state championships.

  • Some represented entire countries, coaching at regional and world championships on the international stage.

  • Others built programs from the ground up and celebrated first wins their schools had ever had.

  • Mental health showed up in new ways too, with members integrating mental health support into their programs for the first time, changing how teams train, communicate, and compete. We also partnered with the Hidden Opponent and Morgan’s Message this year!

  • And sometimes the highlight wasn’t a trophy at all, but rather our members meeting up in real life at tournaments, finally putting faces to names and turning online connections into real ones.

WHAT WE BUILT THIS YEAR

Platform Streamlined to Circle Up - All drills, discussions, and resources now live exclusively on Circle Up. One platform, no more juggling links. It made sharing and learning a lot simpler.

Monthly International Coaches Group - We launched a monthly space for coaches from different countries to meet, exchange ideas, compare development pathways, and talk through challenges in real time.

WILD Call Still Going Strong - Our Women in Lacrosse Development (WILD) monthly call continued as a consistent place for connection, mentorship, and practical insights for anyone shaping the game.

Added a Dedicated Job Board - Community members were already posting jobs nonstop, so we made it official and added a job board to keep opportunities from getting lost in the scroll.

Added Circle Up Select - This space will bring thought leaders that are friends of our community! They’ll have a space to share the things they excel in.

College Coach Networking Group - We’re so thrilled to kick off our new group. We had a lot of interest and have put together a fabulously dynamic group of coaches.

🎙️ KARA’S STORY: “I started it because I needed it.”

This year, our founder Kara opened up on the podcast about what pushed her to create WLD in the first place, the gaps she felt, the support she wished she had, and the movement she hoped to build. Her story is the reason this space exists, because one person needed community, and it turned into a home for over a thousand coaches worldwide.

THAT’S A WRAP

That was 2025 at WLD. A lot changed, a lot grew, and a lot happened quietly behind the scenes. Some of this was planned, some of it wasn’t. What stayed the same was people showing up to share ideas, ask questions, support each other, and keep building the game in ways that actually last.

We want to take this time to thank you for being part of this space and for helping make it what it is.
