Tierney Larson Joins WLD: Built From What Coaches Actually Need

Newest Addition to the WLD Team

WLD is bringing on Tierney Larson to lead a new kind of content built directly from the community. In her new role, she’ll create Responsive Community Content and help launch a new wave of WLD content and courses, turning real conversations into practical coaching tools.

Her Story

Tierney is the kind of coach who covers the full spectrum of the game, and somehow still finds time to step on the field herself (because, in her words, being “washed up” is not really an option)!

A standout player at Marist College, she finished her career as one of the program’s top assist leaders before moving into coaching at the Division I level. She spent several years at Marist and then four years at Columbia University, where she developed offensive systems, coached goalies, and helped guide players into record-setting performances.

Her connection to Czech lacrosse didn’t start recently, it’s been part of her career for years. Before relocating to Prague, Tierney both played for and coached within the Czech National Teams, including competing internationally and helping lead the U19 team to a silver medal at the 2018 European Championship. That long-standing involvement makes her current role less of a move, and more of a return and expansion.

Making the Move to Czechia

Now based in Prague, there really is not a hat that she doesn’t wear. She serves as:

  • Head Coach of the inaugural Box National Team preparing for the 2026 European Championships

  • Assistant Coach for the Senior Field National Team heading to the 2026 World Championships in Tokyo

  • Coach for the U20 National Training Team, preparing for the U20 European Championship in 2027

  • Manager of Development for Czech Women’s Lacrosse

  • Club coach (and player) for TJ Sokol I. Smíchov Flamingos across U12, U16, and senior levels

That mix, college, international, and multi-level development, is exactly what makes her such a strong fit for WLD.

Content That Starts With You

Tierney’s role is built around one idea: the best content comes from real coaching questions. Through Responsive Community Content, she’ll take posts and discussions inside WLD and turn them into clear, usable resources. Not theory, application.

For example, when a coach recently asked about go-to offensive plays, Tierney jumped in, drew up her own set, and recorded a full breakdown, teaching it and adapting it for college, high school, and middle school levels.

Building What’s Next at WLD

Beyond day-to-day content, Tierney will also help develop WLD courses, a new initiative (coming soon! 🤫) focused on deeper, more structured learning. These will give coaches tools to build systems, plan practices, and think long-term about player development.

Good coaches start with the people in front of her, then build systems from there. At WLD, that means every question, challenge, or idea from the community has the potential to turn into something bigger, something coaches can actually use. And with Tierney leading that process, it’s grounded in real experience at every level of the game.
